We are seeking a hands-on Quality Engineer to support dimensional inspection and quality activities within a manufacturing environment. This person will be heavily involved with CMM inspection, 3D scanning, GD&T, and troubleshooting dimensional issues on the production floor.
What You'll Do
Program and operate CMM equipment
Perform 3D scanning and dimensional inspections
Inspect manufactured components against drawings and specifications
Read and interpret GD&T and engineering drawings
Review measurement results and investigate parts that are out of tolerance
Troubleshoot inspection and measurement issues
Work with Production and Engineering to determine the cause of quality problems
Support new-product and production quality activities
Help investigate recurring defects and implement corrective actions
Complete and maintain required quality documentation
Assist with customer quality concerns when needed
What We're Looking For
3+ years of experience in Quality, Metrology, CMM inspection, or a similar manufacturing role
Experience programming and operating CMMs
Experience with 3D scanning is strongly preferred
Strong understanding of GD&T
Ability to read blueprints and engineering drawings
Experience troubleshooting dimensional or manufacturing issues
Familiarity with common automotive/manufacturing quality processes
Comfortable spending time on the manufacturing floor
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Preferred Background
Automotive or high-volume manufacturing
Stamping, welding, machining, or fabricated components
Experience with CMM or scanning software such as PC-DMIS, Calypso, PolyWorks, Geomagic, or similar
Experience with PPAP, APQP, MSA, Gage R&R, and capability studies
Engineering or technical degree preferred, but strong hands-on experience will also be considered
