Qualifying Questions:

Summary:

• Perform precision dimensional inspections using Laser Trackers (FARO, Leica, or similar), FARO Arms, and CMMs.

• Program, operate, and troubleshoot metrology software including Verisurf (required) and PolyWorks (preferred).

• Inspect aerospace components, composite structures, machined parts, assemblies, tooling, and fixtures using engineering drawings, CAD models, and GD&T.

• Establish coordinate systems and perform part alignments using datum-based, best-fit, and iterative alignment strategies.

• Generate detailed inspection reports, measurement records, and dimensional analysis documentation.

• Support First Article Inspections (FAI), in-process inspections, and final acceptance inspections.

• Investigate dimensional nonconformances and partner with Engineering and Manufacturing teams to identify root causes and corrective actions.

• Provide technical expertise on measurement strategy, inspection planning, and product verification.

• Ensure metrology equipment remains calibrated and maintained per quality system requirements.

• Support continuous improvement initiatives for inspection efficiency, process capability, and manufacturing quality.

Requirements:

• Ability to obtain a Security Clearance.

• Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).

• Advanced proficiency interpreting GD&T per ASME Y14.5 and ability to demonstrate practical GD&T knowledge during interview.

• Experience creating and executing measurement plans based on engineering drawings and CAD models.

• Strong understanding of datums, true position, profile tolerances, form and orientation controls, coordinate systems, and alignment methodologies.

• Proficiency with Verisurf (required) and PolyWorks (preferred).

• Proficiency with CAD software such as SolidWorks, CATIA, NX, Creo, or equivalent.

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on metrology experience in aerospace, aviation, defense, or other precision manufacturing environments.

• Demonstrated experience operating Laser Trackers, FARO Arms, articulated measurement arms, and CMM systems.

• Experience inspecting complex machined and composite aerospace components, and supporting FAI, production inspection, root cause investigations, and dimensional problem solving.

• Required: GD&T Certification. Preferred: Verisurf Programming, PolyWorks, FARO Arm, Laser Tracker, or CMM Programming Certification; Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related technical discipline; experience in low-volume/high-complexity aerospace manufacturing.
