Job Information

What You Need

  • Apprentice certification, Associate’s degree or other 2 year technical degree in a relevant field

  • 1+ years of related experience

  • 1+ years of programming experience in SpatialAnalyzer

What You Will Do

  • Utilizes metrology calibration systems and techniques based on principles of measurement science, technical analysis of measurement problems, and accuracy control requirements.
  • Lays out and assembles a variety of alignment and measurement equipment involving compound angles and complex contours where the establishment and coordination to exacting tolerances of numerous reference points between several planes are required.
  • Performs measurement surveys using photogrammetry, total stations, laser trackers or other electronic 3-D instruments.
  • Uses computer aided designs (CAD) and/or graphic user interface software for design.
  • Plans work to be performed and determines methods and sequence of operations working from ship design drawings or own designs.
  • Sets up and operates optical instruments to check overall and detailed alignment, fit, or adjustment of ship construction.
  • Prepares operational sequences and AC plans covering parts fabrication and assembly to be performed by others.
  • Analyze and process raw measurement data to produce compliance and procedural reports; monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical processes and controls.
