The Assistant Nurse Manager supports the Nurse Manager or Nursing Director by providing clinical leadership and supervision to nursing staff within the assigned area. This role assists with daily operations, staff development, performance management, budgeting, and initiatives that promote high-quality, patient-centered care.
Responsibilities:

Provides supervision, clinical expertise, and leadership to nursing staff.
Assists with hiring and personnel management activities.
Conducts employee evaluations and supports ongoing staff development.
Assists with orientation and onboarding of new employees.
Participates in performance improvement and quality initiatives.
Assists with development and management of departmental budgets.
Promotes excellent customer service and a positive patient experience.
Supports the delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-centered care.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications

Education
Associate’s Degree required
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
New hires effective June 14, 2017, must obtain a BSN within three (3) years of hire or transfer
Employees hired/transferred between August 1, 2013, and June 13, 2017, must follow the requirements outlined in their offer letter and job description
Employees hired/transferred prior to August 1, 2013, are grandfathered
Preferred: BSN or Bachelor’s Degree in a related healthcare field
Required Skills
Knowledge of Joint Commission Standards and Nursing Standards
Demonstrated clinical nursing skills
Strong customer service skills
Basic computer literacy
Strong oral and written communication skills
Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills
Licensure & Certifications
Licensed to practice nursing in the State of Florida
BLS from the American Heart Association required for all areas
ACLS, PALS, NRP, AWHONN FHM, and/or STABLE required based on assigned department and within the designated timeframe
Professional certification required within two (2) years of hire or transfer, or within the specified timeframe once certification eligibility requirements are met
Required Experience
3–5 years of experience as a practicing RN in an acute-care setting
