Summary
Job Description:
The Manager of Facilities is responsible for planning, organizing, coordinating, and directing all functions of the department(s) to meet the stated mission, vision and values of the organization. It is expected that the Director will effectively operate the department, continue the improvement of the department's processes and outcomes, comply with hospital, ambulatory surgery centers, imaging centers, and corporate policy and procedures; efficiently manage finances and resources, promote teamwork and customer satisfaction, and integrate the department services into the organization's overall plan for the delivery of care and service.
Required Skills:
1. Extensive knowledge of construction, installation and operational testing and knowledge of local code and NFPA requirements and specifications.
2. Considerable knowledge of materials, tools and techniques used in maintenance and repair.
3. Extensive knowledge of hazards and safety precautions.
4. Knowledgeable of Life Safety code, NFPA and ADA requirements and specifications.
5. Ability to understand and use schematics, diagrams, technical manuals, blue prints and specifications.
6. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing and ability to confer with staff, vendors or contractors to determine specific equipment or system requirements and other specifications.
7. General Knowledge of use of personal computer and ability to learn operation software applications, i.e. Windows 95 or 98.
8. Ability to work under pressure and coordinate numerous activities and groups of people who need to cooperate to achieve maximum efficiency. Ability to interpret MSDS.
Required Experience:
Work Experience:
Five years of experience in construction, maintenance of equipment, utilities, and buildings.
Three years of management experience required.
License/Registration/Certification:
Electrical or Plumbing Masters License in Texas, Mechanical Class A contractor License in Texas, or Certified Health Care Facility Manager (CHFM) preferred.Education and Training:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field required.
Completion of approved and accredited trade school in HVAC, Engineering, Industrial, Electrical, Pipefitting, Welding, Maintenance or Construction program preferred.
