Expected salary range of $136,800 to $152,000, varies based on experience, along with comprehensive benefits package that includes bonus and 401(k).

Responsibilities:

Primary Purpose of Position

Responsible for providing technical, regulatory and programmatic direction on environmental issues for Power. Assures that the highest level of compliance is maintained with all applicable environmental rules and regulations. Responsible for licensing, permitting and completion of specific environmental regulatory filings in one or more environmental programs including, but not limited to, air pollution control, water pollution control, spill planning and prevention, storage tank management, solid and hazardous waste management and remediation. Oversee a diverse group of individuals responsible for the various program areas of environmental operations.


Primary Duties and Accountabilities

  • Prepare and submit permit applications, review drafts, prepare comments and negotiate final permits.
  • Prepare, review and submit agency reports and filings, and respond to agency inquiries. Comment on proposed regulations applying analytical skills.
  • Provide facility advice, develop and implement environmental strategies, prepare and issue regulatory interpretations related to area of subject matter expertise (air, water, waste etc.). Manage multiple issues/priorities with conflicting priorities.
  • Provide technical and regulatory support and expertise to environmentally related projects and programs to assure compliance with all appropriate environmental regulations utilizing excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including written and verbal.
  • Supervisory responsibilities for the programs subject matter experts (SMEs).
  • Review and update the Management Model related to area of subject matter expertise (air, water, waste, etc.)
  • All other job assignments and/or duties pursuant to company policy or as directed by management to include but not limited to: (Department duty coverage and/or call out, and positions outside of department in support of outage activities etc.)

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, natural or physical sciences, or environmental science or related program with 8 years related experience OR
  • Associate's degree in engineering, natural or physical sciences, or environmental science or related program with 10 years related experience OR
  • High school diploma/GED with 12 years relevant experience
  • Maintain minimum access requirements or unescorted access requirements, as applicable, and favorable medical examination and/or testing in accordance with position duties
  • Supervisory or managerial experience
  • Experience with environmental regulatory requirements for power plants
Qualifications:

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in engineering, natural or physical sciences, chemistry, or environmental science.
  • 3 years people management experience
  • Experience with the following air quality permitting, continuous emission monitoring systems (CEMS), emergency planning and community right-to-know act (EPCRA), and hazardous waste management
  • Experience with Environmental Management Systems (ISO 14001), greenhouse gas (GHG) inventories and protocols, and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG)
  • Professional certification or other industry recognition
  • Project management experience
