This is a working CLS/Laboratory Manager position. In addition to CLS duties, they will also assist the Administrative Lab Director with supervisory duties. Following procedures established by the Section Heads and medical directors, a Clinical Laboratory Scientist performs a variety of laboratory tests in many areas of the laboratory, including High Complexity Tests as defined by CLIA. A CLS is responsible for accuracy and reporting of results of application of principles, theories and techniques, professional judgment, computer proficiency, microscopic proficiency, and good communications skills.
EDUCATION: BA/BS degree from an accredited college or university with a major in the biological or chemical sciences as required for California State licensure.Completion of an accredited CLS program with requisite internship.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum 3 -5 years of recent/current CLS hospital and benchwork experience required. Management experience is preferred.
LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS: Valid and current California CLS license. Must provide original/original duplicate license upon hire.
