Responsibilities:

Under the direction of the Sr. Director of Physician Billing, the Manager of Physician Billing is responsible for billing and follow-up activities for assigned practice groups. Additionally, the manager monitors staffing, billing and collection processes to ensure department operational/financial goals and objectives are met.

Qualifications:

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Education and Work Experience:
    • Must possess a high school diploma or GED
    • Two or four year degree preferred
    • Healthcare revenue cycle management experience may be substituted for a degree
    • 3 - 5 year’s management/supervisory experience in healthcare CBO environment preferred with a proven track record for A/R management

    • Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to utilize one or more of the following:

        • Microsoft Word, Power Point, and Excel

        • Meditech (if applicable to position)
        • Epic (if applicable to position)
        • NetLearning
        • Electronic Performance Appraisal System
    • Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language in an understandable manner.
    • Must be able to work independently and possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
    • Must possess the ability to effectively communicate and deal tactfully with other personnel, visitors, patients, physicians, customers, and the general public.
    • Must be flexible, have personal integrity, and the ability to function effectively as a team with other employees.
    • Must be able to follow written and oral instructions.
  • Other Requirements:
    • Must be proficient in MS Office Product Suite (Outlook, Word, EXCEL
    • Preferred experience with Allscripts/Misys Vision, RealMed, and ImageNow
    • Must be able to work independently.
    • Must be knowledgeable in data entry and filing duties.
    • Must be able to use a variety of mechanical equipment such as copiers, computers, facsimile machines and postage equipment.
    • Must be able to communicate and/or process the knowledge, skills or abilities to effectively interact and are for the specific ages of patients served.
    • Must be able to cope with the interruptions, be flexible and a team player.
