DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Position responsibilities include: Follow all safety procedures, including the wearing of all required personal protective equipment. Maintain a safe, comfortable working environment using industrial cleaning equipment and machines while ensuring all protective functions are utilized. General custodial labor. Clean manufacturing areas (dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning ceiling vents, machines, etc.). Carry out heavy cleaning tasks and special projects. Ability to handle equipment and machinery. Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies. Familiarity with Material Safety Data Sheets. Propose improvements and participate in problem solving using the Safety Corner Board, Continuous Improvement Suggestions, and participating in monthly Communication and Awareness initiatives. Keep area clean and orderly, per 5S requirements, this includes aisle ways and areas around the equipment being used. Perform any additional responsibilities assigned by Supervisor.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS Reports to the Tooling and Facilities Manager. Maintains regular interface with all levels of Plant Management and personnel in Ithaca.
BACK-UP In absence of an incumbent in this position, the back-up for primary duties is responsibility of the direct reports in each functional area. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned among other qualified employees, depending upon business priorities.
