Minimum Qualifications

Completion of 60 semester credits to include 15 semester credits in a computer related field and one year of experience in the installation, maintenance or repair of personal computers and related equipment are required; Completion of a vocational or trade school program in the installation, maintenance or repair of personal computers and related equipment and one year of experience in the installation, maintenance or repair of personal computers and related equipment are required; or High school diploma or GED and two years of experience in the installation, maintenance or repair of personal computers and related equipment are required.

Recruitment Notes

  • Installs computer hardware including personal computers, terminals, servers, printers, telephone circuits, controllers, and other components; installs local-area-networks including configuring hard drives and servers, network interface cards, cabling, hubs, routers, and associated software. Isolates the nature of system failures or PC problems and utilizes diagnostic utilities in order to troubleshoot problems; tests the connectivity of devices; performs procedures necessary for backing up systems to include cloud-based backup procedures; performs system upgrades.
  • Test new software through the deployment of the MDFR Operating system layered image process. Performs client\terminal connectivity to intranet\internet\cloud\mainframe. Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures and diagrams of the MDFR Territory and Technical support.
  • Perform and maintain computer hardware inventory. Perform basic level 2 end-user training of hardware/software. Initiate requisitions for hardware, memory cards, connectors, monitors, and printers as needed. Provides department-wide end-user support and service with regard to hardware and software problems through a formal helpdesk or on-site repair.
  • Implement\Maintain\Support local-area-networks including the configuration of hard drives, network interface cards, cabling hubs, routers, and associated software.
  • Deploy/Support and Maintain first responder mobile devices and supporting mobile gateway: Configure, troubleshoot, support and facilitate the repair of the On-Board Mobile Gateway devices; Image and maintain Mobile devices with supporting GPS connective; Deployment and support of wireless air cards, resolving Net Motion connectivity issues with ITD, manage users/units for MCU equipped Applications; Monitor connectivity of each mobile unit through the mobile network.
