Manage multiple public-sector construction projects from award through completion. Oversee project budgets, cost controls, forecasting, and change order management. Develop and maintain project schedules and coordinate all project activities. Serve as the primary point of contact for owners, architects, engineers, and public agency representatives. Manage subcontractors, vendors, and field operations to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget. Review contracts, drawings, specifications, RFIs, submittals, and procurement schedules. Coordinate HVAC, MEP, and specialty trade installations. Ensure compliance with agency requirements, NYC building regulations, and safety standards. Lead project meetings and provide regular progress reporting to senior leadership and clients. Support preconstruction efforts including estimating, value engineering, and bid reviews.
A successful Project Manager should have 5+ years of Project Management experience with a General Contractor. Proven experience managing projects for agencies such as SCA, DDC, DASNY, HHC, DOC, DSNY, FDNY, EDC, or similar public entities. Strong understanding of public construction procurement, prevailing wage requirements, and government contract administration. Experience coordinating HVAC, MEP, and building systems installations. Ability to manage project financials, schedules, subcontractors, and client expectations. Proficient with Procore, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office Suite. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
