Our client is a well-respected General Contractor specializing in public construction projects throughout New York City. With a strong backlog of work across educational, municipal, healthcare, correctional, and infrastructure sectors, they have built a reputation for delivering high-quality projects safely, on schedule, and within budget for some of the city's most prominent public agencies.
Manage all on-site construction activities from mobilization through project closeout. Develop and enforce project schedules, sequencing, and daily work plans. Supervise subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel to ensure productivity and quality standards are met. Coordinate HVAC, MEP, plumbing, electrical, fire protection, and specialty trade installations. Conduct daily site meetings, subcontractor coordination meetings, and safety inspections. Ensure compliance with project drawings, specifications, agency requirements, and NYC building codes. Maintain project documentation including daily reports, look-ahead schedules, and progress updates. Work closely with Project Managers to control costs, manage change orders, and maintain project schedules. Lead site safety initiatives and enforce OSHA regulations and company safety standards. Serve as the primary field contact for owners, architects, engineers, inspectors, and agency representatives.

A successful Superintendent should have: 5+ years of Superintendent experience with a General Contractor. Proven experience managing public-sector projects for agencies including SCA, DDC, DASNY, HHC, DOC, DSNY, FDNY, EDC, or similar government entities. Strong understanding of public works construction, agency protocols, inspections, and compliance requirements. Extensive HVAC and MEP coordination experience. Experience managing occupied facilities, renovations, and capital improvement projects. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and schedules. Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple trades simultaneously. OSHA 30 certification required; SST certifications preferred. Experience utilizing Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, and other construction management software is a plus.
