The Microbiology Analyst is a trained scientist responsible for the technical analysis and accountability of samples submitted for microbiological testing at Exact Scientific Services. This position requires firm understanding of all current established ISO 17025 and non-ISO standard operating procedures (including DOE methods), reference materials and client preferences.Microbiology analysts must maintain the laboratory environment and equipment to ensure appropriate turnaround times, smooth employee synergy and efficient workflow.Communication between employees with regards to testing progression is imperative to successfully completing analysis.Training for the position of analyst will be handled by the Director, QA Director, and senior analysts and the duration of the training period will vary depending on scientific background and experience.

Working days and Time: Initial training will be 40 hours a week 5 days a week, moving to 4 days a week after applicable training takes place. Overtime is possible, with occasion Saturday partial day work.
Primary Duties:
Compositing samples that come through the lab while practicing aseptic technique.
Analyst must be comfortable with aseptic technique.
Analyst must be comfortable with performing serial dilutions.
Making sure the microbiology lab is cleaned and picked up.
Responsible for accurately reading and recording all data from test methods assigned to individual analyst by the microbiology director.
Responsible for entering and recording accurate and complete analytical information onto the Microbiology worksheets.
Responsible for checking in, weighing out, and plating samples in a timely fashion.
Assist with drinking water samples.
Assist with surface water samples.
Perform daily temperature checks of fridges and incubators.
Secondary Duties:
Calibrate enrichment and water pumps.
Help with pathogen enrichments.
Assist with dishes and cleaning plastic wear.
Take out trashes.

BA-Science/BS and 2 years analyst or MS
Hours are 7 am- 6 pm four days a week, but must be flexible as all samples arriving need to be setup the same business day.
Laboratory Experience (4 years)
Analyst must be able to work in fast-paced environment and be able to stand for long periods of time.
Analyst will have to work the occasional Saturday (4-hour shift).
