Job Summary

The Microelectronics Assembly Technician is responsible for performing a variety of electronic and electro-mechanical assembly tasks in support of production, developmental, prototype, and pre-production operations. This role requires precision assembly of miniature components using microscopes and specialized tools while maintaining high standards of quality and accuracy. The position supports manufacturing and engineering teams by performing assembly, modifications, rework, testing, and inspection activities where documentation and guidance may be limited. This is a fully onsite position requiring strong attention to detail, excellent hand-eye coordination, and the ability to work with small, intricate components for extended periods.

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform electronic and electro-mechanical assembly of miniature components and assemblies.
  • Assemble, inspect, repair, and rework products using microscopes and precision tools.
  • Conduct modifications, troubleshooting, and rework activities as required.
  • Perform quality inspections and testing to ensure product compliance and functionality.
  • Support prototype, developmental, and pre-production manufacturing activities.
  • Follow assembly instructions, specifications, and engineering guidance to complete assigned tasks.
  • Identify and address component inconsistencies or defects during assembly processes.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing and engineering teams to resolve production issues.
  • Maintain accurate records of assembly, inspection, and testing activities.
  • Adhere to quality standards, safety procedures, and manufacturing best practices.
  • Work effectively in a fast-paced production environment while maintaining high levels of precision and accuracy.

Job Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Person and legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience performing precision assembly, manufacturing, or related technical work.
  • Experience using microscopes to assemble or inspect miniature components.
  • Strong visual acuity and ability to perform detailed work under magnification for extended periods.
  • Experience with miniature precision devices and components.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to adapt to changing part conditions and assembly requirements.
  • Experience with electronics assembly, PCB assembly, repair, or rework.
  • Experience with SMT (Surface Mount Technology) assembly and rework is preferred.
  • Ability to interpret work instructions and maintain quality standards.
  • Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with repetitive precision tasks.

Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Technical training in electronics, manufacturing, or a related field is preferred.

Work Experience

  • Experience in microscope-based assembly, inspection, or manufacturing environments.
  • Experience in electronics manufacturing, PCB assembly, SMT assembly, repair, or rework preferred.
  • Experience in medical device assembly, clean room environments, jewelry making, watch repair, or other highly detailed miniature assembly work is highly desirable.
  • Experience working in ISO-regulated or clean room environments is preferred.
  • IPC J-STD-001 solder certification is preferred.
