Position Summary
Works under general supervision to operate various electronic data storage equipment either on site or off site. Responsible for microfilming, storing and retrieving important and sensitive documents and other instruments as required by law
Pay Grade: 41
Salary Commensurate with Experience and Education
Minimum Qualifications
- Two (2) years of experience as a microfilm technician; AND
- High School diploma or GED
- PROOF OF EDUCATION; TRAINING; AND/OR EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Receives, examines, and prepares documents for reproduction and order of filming/scanning.
- Cleans and properly sets appropriate scanners for processing images.
- Ensures proper image quality.
- Films or scans Documents in proper sequence.
- Makes corrections by deleting images or inserting data.
- Proofreads and verifies images and data entered for discrepancies.
- Prepares documents, attaches bar code sheets, and updates logs.
- Scans documents using desktop flatbed scanners.
- Processes confidential documents into a secure database.
- Disposes/recycles paper documents properly.
- Processes Conversion Files.
- Troubleshoots quickly to resolve system problems to ensure minimal workflow disruptions.
- Performs routine maintenance on equipment as required.
- Performs related responsibilities as required or directed.
KSAs
- Knowledge of business English and Computer Technology.
- Ability to follow instructions pertaining to confidential and sensitive documents.
- Ability to operate micro-processing/scanning equipment with little supervision.
- Ability to perform work of repetitive nature with concentration.
- Knowledge of PC and Windows Application Fundamentals.
- Ability to carry out written and oral instructions with minimal supervision.
- Knowledge of Local, State, and Federal Laws Pertaining to Microfilming and Document Retention.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift approximately 50 pounds bulk weight.
- May require overhead reaching, stooping or bending, and frequent walking or standing.
Special Requirements
- Must be able to work shift work, weekends and holidays.
