Through NRI Resource Management Services (RMS), we offer custom talent solutions to help our clients meet their evolving technology and business needs. We help effectively match the right technology professional to their organization, recruiting for contract, contract-to-hire, and direct roles. Our client in Milwaukee, WI has an immediate need for a Microsoft 365 Engineer. Please note that this is a contract opportunity with our client and NOT with NRI.

    Role Summary

Hands-on Microsoft 365 engineer to validate, optimize, and maintain enterprise M365 environments, making sure configurations operate as designed and deliver secure, reliable service. This is a technical execution role, not a management or advisory-only position.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Assess and validate M365 tenant configurations against design standards and Microsoft best practices, then identify and remediate gaps.
    • Administer and troubleshoot Microsoft Intune (MDM/MAM), including device enrollment, compliance and configuration policies, app deployment, and Autopilot.
    • Manage Exchange Online, including mail flow, connectors, transport rules, retention, anti-spam and anti-phishing protection, and hybrid configurations.
    • Configure and maintain Entra ID, including Conditional Access, MFA, identity governance, and access controls.
    • Perform health checks, root-cause analysis, and hands-on resolution of complex escalated issues.
    • Harden security and compliance using Defender and Purview capabilities.
    • Document configurations, as-built designs, and operational runbooks, and transfer knowledge to support teams.

    Required Qualifications

    • 10+ years of enterprise Microsoft messaging and endpoint experience, with at least 5 years focused on M365 cloud.
    • Deep, hands-on expertise in Intune, Exchange Online, and Entra ID.
    • Proven track record troubleshooting complex, production-scale M365 environments.
    • Strong PowerShell scripting and automation skills.
    • Ability to work directly with client stakeholders and explain technical findings clearly.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Microsoft certifications such as MS-102 (M365 Administrator), MD-102 (Endpoint Administrator), or SC-300 (Identity and Access Administrator).
    • Experience with public sector, utilities, or other regulated environments.
    • Background in managed services or consulting delivery.
