Duration: 12 months to start with the possibility of extension
Position Description:
Skills required: The Technical Architect will possess knowledge and experience in analyses and development of conceptual designs and detail designs; developing JBOSS Messaging and connectivity with Spring-JMS connectivity; designing DB schema as per the requirements and in sync with the old system; implementing the daily and weekly jobs that interact with external interfaces; coordinating with business stakeholders to understand their requirements; communicate with cross-divisional personnel at both team and executive levels to understand performance measurement methodologies; and direct team members in compiling business requirements and executing project milestones.
Additional Skills Required:
Experience Required: This classification must have a minimum of eight (8) years of experience in systems development, analysis, programming, or testing.
Additional Experience Required:
Education Required: This classification requires the possession of a bachelor's degree in an IT-related or Engineering field. Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
Additional Education Required:
Cloud certifications such as Azure Fundamentals and above, AWS Cloud Practitioner and above, Microsoft Professional, or Professional Google Cloud.

Position Description:
- A Technical Architect will serve as the manager of complex technology implementations, with an eye toward constant reengineering and refactoring to ensure the simplest and most elegant system possible to accomplish the desired need.
- understand how to maximize leverage of the open-source community to deploy systems on Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) providers.
- be comfortable sharing knowledge across a multi-disciplinary team and working within various methodologies.
- and be a full partner in the determination of vision, objectives, and success criteria.
- The Technical Architect will architect the overall system by using prototyping and proof of concepts, which may include:
- modern programming languages (e.g., Ruby, Python, Node.js) and web frameworks (e.g., Django, Rails),
- modern front-end web programming techniques (e.g., HTML5, CSS3, RESTful APIs) and frameworks (e.g., Twitter Bootstrap, jQuery),
- relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL), and "NoSQL” databases (e.g., Cassandra, MongoDB),
- automated configuration management (e.g., Chef, Puppet, Ansible, Salt),
- continuous integration/deployment, and
- continuous monitoring solutions.
- use version control systems (e.g., Git and GitHub)
- ensure strategic alignment of technical design and architecture to meet business growth and direction, and stay on top of emerging technologies
- decompose business and system architecture to support clean-interface multi-team development
- develop product roadmaps, backlogs, and measurable success criteria,
- and write user stories (i.e., can establish a path to delivery for breaking down stories) and clearly communicate and work with stakeholders at every level.

Additional Skills Required:
- Expertise in the configuration and upgrading of Microsoft SQL Server versions 2016 and above.
- Proficient in the implementation and administration of Always on Availability Groups and High Availability/Disaster Recovery solutions for SQL Server 2016 and later.
- Competence in the deployment and management of Azure SQL, Azure Managed Instances, SQL Server on Amazon EC2, and AWS RDS for SQL Server.
- Competence in utilizing migration tools such as SQL Server Migration Assistant (SSMA) and Database Migration Assistant (DMA)
- Competence in cross platform conversions and migrations of Microsoft SQL, MySQL, and PostgreSQL databases between on premise data centers and Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), or Google Cloud Platform (GCP);
- Aptitude in configuring and maintaining monitoring with Microsoft System Center Operations Manager (SCOM) monitoring solutions.
- Skilled at executing comprehensive backup and recovery strategies.
- Proficient in employing automation and scripting technologies such as Microsoft PowerShell, for robust workflow automation.
- Competent with database security patching using Microsoft Systems Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), Windows Server Update Services (WSUS), or Tanium.
- Dexterity in producing detailed architecture diagrams and procedure documentation.
- Possesses effective communication skills to collaborate with customers, project stakeholders, and vendors.
Experience Required: This classification must have a minimum of eight (8) years of experience in systems development, analysis, programming, or testing.
Additional Experience Required:
- 10 years of experience performing Microsoft SQL Server installations, configurations, security, encryptions, patching, monitoring and administration.
- 5 years of experience managing enterprise Microsoft SQL Server farms of 300+ servers; 5 years of experience developing automation scripts in the administration of Microsoft SQL Server functions with tools such as Jenkins, Ansible, Terraform, PowerShell or similar tools.
- 5 years of experience migrating and upgrading Microsoft SQL Server onto latest supported versions.
- 3 years of experience of Microsoft SQL Server cloud migrations from on premise.
- 3 years of experience managing Azure SQL or SQL Managed Instances.
- 5 years of experience architecting, configuring, and managing Microsoft SQL Server Always On Availability Groups (AG) and High Availability (HA) Disaster Recovery (DR) setups.
- 5 years of experience performing SQL Server backups and recoveries with Commvault, SQL Server Management Studio or similar tools.
