Overview:
Position: MICU Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Day & Night shifts available
Location: New Haven, CT
Schedule: 9 shifts every 3 weeks (12-13 hours), rotating weekends and holidays/no call

The Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) at Yale New Haven Hospital is seeking a Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity to practice in a high-acuity, collaborative environment within a leading health system.
Role & Responsibilities: Critical Care & Clinical Management
As a valued member of the care team, you will:
- Manage complex, high-acuity patients including those requiring mechanical ventilation, vasopressor support, and multi-organ failure management
- Participate in daily multidisciplinary rounds, contributing to critical decision-making and care planning
- Perform ongoing evaluation and adjustment of ventilator settings in collaboration with respiratory therapy
- Provide comprehensive assessment, triage, and management of critically ill patients throughout the care continuum
- Collaborate closely with attending physicians and the interdisciplinary team in accordance with state regulations, hospital policies, protocols, and clinical pathways
- Deliver compassionate psychosocial support to patients and their families in a professional and ethical manner
- Contribute to a team-based care model with opportunities for autonomous clinical decision-making

Qualifications:
Education
- Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
Experience
- Open to new graduates – 6-month orientation provided
Licensure & Certification
- Active, unrestricted Connecticut license (or eligibility)
- ACLS/BLS certification (as required)
- DEA registration (or eligibility)
