Job Summary
If you're interested in a Mid Level Biologist job, then this is the best role for you! Seeking a biologist to perform technical studies evaluating product safety through laboratory assays. The role involves supporting insect bioassays, maintaining lab systems, and ensuring data quality. Candidates should be detail-oriented and able to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Job Description
- Support insect bioassays using artificial diet to assess insecticidal compounds following GLP (40 CFR Part 160) procedures
- Receive, maintain, and track insect colonies and laboratory supplies using electronic inventory systems
- Maintain agricultural crops in growth chambers or greenhouses
- Perform quality control checks on scientific data and reports
- Maintain laboratory cleanliness and equipment
- Assist with additional laboratory tasks as needed
Skills Required
- Strong foundation in entomology or related biological science
- Proficiency in standard laboratory techniques (e.g., pipetting, solution preparation)
- Experience with insect bioassays (preferred)
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team-based environment
- High attention to detail and strong writing skills
- Experience with electronic data systems and documentation (preferred)
- Familiarity with quality management systems such as GLP, ISO, or similar (preferred)
Education/Training/Certifications
- BS, MS, or PhD in Biology, Entomology, or a related field
- Alternatively, at least 2 years of laboratory assay experience
Additional Requirements
- Must pass a drug screening and criminal background checks
- Start Time: 08:00 AM
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment
- Willingness to occasionally work weekends
- Experience maintaining live organisms (insect colonies) is an asset
- Comfortable working in laboratory and greenhouse settings
Pay Rate/Salary
- Estimated Salary: $33.39 to $41.39 per hour. Compensation will be offered within this posted range based on experience, skills, and market factors.
