Job Summary

If you're interested in a Mid Level Biologist job, then this is the best role for you! Seeking a biologist to perform technical studies evaluating product safety through laboratory assays. The role involves supporting insect bioassays, maintaining lab systems, and ensuring data quality. Job Description

  • Support insect bioassays using artificial diet to assess insecticidal compounds following GLP (40 CFR Part 160) procedures
  • Receive, maintain, and track insect colonies and laboratory supplies using electronic inventory systems
  • Maintain agricultural crops in growth chambers or greenhouses
  • Perform quality control checks on scientific data and reports
  • Maintain laboratory cleanliness and equipment
  • Assist with additional laboratory tasks as needed

 

Skills Required

  • Strong foundation in entomology or related biological science
  • Proficiency in standard laboratory techniques (e.g., pipetting, solution preparation)
  • Experience with insect bioassays (preferred)
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-based environment
  • High attention to detail and strong writing skills
  • Experience with electronic data systems and documentation (preferred)
  • Familiarity with quality management systems such as GLP, ISO, or similar (preferred)

 

Education/Training/Certifications

  • BS, MS, or PhD in Biology, Entomology, or a related field
  • Alternatively, at least 2 years of laboratory assay experience

 

Additional Requirements

  • Must pass a drug screening and criminal background checks
  • Start Time: 08:00 AM
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment
  • Willingness to occasionally work weekends
  • Experience maintaining live organisms (insect colonies) is an asset
  • Comfortable working in laboratory and greenhouse settings

 

Pay Rate/Salary

  • Estimated Salary: $33.39 to $41.39 per hour. Compensation will be offered within this posted range based on experience, skills, and market factors.
