Responsibilities
• Support implementation of assessment programs and evaluate remedial options for site cleanup, as well as environmental due diligence, regulatory compliance, and permitting activities • Apply remedial technologies through production of engineering designs, permitting, contractor and equipment procurement, construction planning and oversight, and system operation, maintenance, and monitoring • Perform fieldwork to support environmental investigation, evaluation, and remediation projects, including the collection of groundwater, soil, soil vapor, stormwater, and surface water samples • Assist in the management, analysis, and interpretation of environmental data using statistical and data visualization tools • Assist Project Technical Leaders in the preparation of high-quality technical presentations, reports, letters, plans, and proposals • Coordinate with vendors, subcontractors, and analytical laboratories and independently perform subcontractor oversight • Provide stormwater compliance support for industrial facilities to comply with regulatory requirements • Perform fieldwork to evaluate industrial activities and pollutants, stormwater drainage, and stormwater best management practices • Conduct hydrologic and hydraulic evaluations • Conduct feasibility evaluations and support the development and design of innovative stormwater treatment measures • Independently perform research tasks with input from technical experts • Contribute to a team atmosphere through collaboration with technical experts, project managers, colleagues, and subcontractors
Qualifications/Requirements
A Bachelors degree or higher in the Geosciences, Environmental Engineering, or related field is required; a Masters degree is preferred.
Between 5 and 12 years of relevant professional work experience is preferred.
Engineer in Training (EIT) or Geologist in Training (GIT) certification is required; however, Professional Engineer (PE) or Professional Geoscientist (PG) certification is preferred.
Required skills and qualifications include:
• Experience with data management, database and office software, and data analysis • Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication • Ability to manage multiple tasks and organize complex datasets • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • Valid drivers license and clear driving record • Ability to travel domestically to perform fieldwork
Additional preferred skillsets and qualifications include:
• Working knowledge of state and federal environmental cleanup and/or stormwater regulations is preferred. • 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification
