Mid-Level Litigation Associate - New York, NYDescriptionFox Rothschild has an opening in the New York, NY office for a Litigation Associate with five to seven years of experience. The ideal candidate will have experience in all aspects of general commercial litigation.QualificationsJuris Doctorate (JD) required. Must be licensed to practice law in the State of New York.Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesStrong research, writing skills, and academic record.Experience in all aspects of general commercial litigation.Experience in New York State and federal courts.Experience drafting and responding to initial pleadings and discovery.Experience drafting and arguing motions.Experience taking and defending depositions, including expert depositions.Experience with real estate and finance matters preferred.Trial experience a plus but not required.Large law firm experience strongly preferred.Work Environment & Physical DemandsThis job operates in a clerical, office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment including, but not limited to computers, telephones, printers, and copiers.Physical RequirementsSedentary work: Exertion of physical strength to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects up to 10 pounds. Work involves sitting most of the time. Walking and standing is often necessary in carrying out job duties.Visual AcuityWorker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.Compensation & BenefitsThe salary range for this position applies to New York City. The salary range reflects a variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to experience, education, licensure and/or certifications, geographic location, market demands and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for a position.
