Location: San Francisco, CA (Hybrid Option)

Position Type: Direct Hire / Full-Time

Compensation: $310,000 – $370,000 Base Salary (DOE)

Position Overview

We are representing a premier, highly regarded Northern California mid-sized law firm in its search for a Mid-Level or Senior Corporate Tax Associate. This role offers a unique dual-practice opportunity to work directly alongside both the firm’s Corporate/M&A and Investment Fund practice groups, advising a sophisticated client base on complex tax matters.

Key Responsibilities

• Corporate / M&A Practice: Advise clients on tax strategy and structuring related to middle-market M&A transactions, joint ventures (including real estate joint ventures), and early-stage/emerging growth companies.

• Investment Fund Practice: Provide tax counsel on complex financial transactions and entity structuring involving partnerships, corporations, and offshore entities.

• Client Representation: Work closely with investment advisers, hedge funds, real estate funds, private equity funds, and venture capital funds.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with senior tax partners, corporate/M&A attorneys, and investment advisory specialists across integrated deal teams.

Candidate Qualifications

• Experience: 5 to 8 years of substantial transactional corporate tax experience in a law firm environment.

• Education: J.D. with superior academic credentials from a nationally recognized law school.

• Skills: Exceptional, demonstrably superior legal writing, drafting, and analytical capabilities.

• Bar Admission: Active law license in good standing (California bar admission preferred or willingness to sit for/waive in).

Compensation & Benefits

• Annual Base Salary Range: $310,000 to $370,000

  • Actual base compensation will be determined by factors including specific experience level, educational background, and relevant technical skill sets.
