Our Technology & Intellectual Property Team Stoel Rives's Technology & Intellectual Property practice is a multidisciplinary group that includes attorneys with experience in business, regulatory law, and litigation related to intellectual property rights (patents, copyrights, trademarks, and trade secrets).Responsibilities Manage domestic and international trademark portfoliosHandle trademark prosecution matters before the USPTO and coordinate with foreign counsel worldwideDevelop and implement trademark protection and enforcement strategies, including online brand protection initiativesConduct trademark clearance searches and prepare risk assessmentsSupport Trademark Trial and Appeal Board opposition, cancellation, and appeal proceedingsCounsel clients on copyright protection, registration, licensing, and enforcement mattersAddress digital content issues, including fair use, online brand protection, domain name disputes, UDRP proceedings, and DMCA takedown mattersDraft and negotiate trademark, copyright, and other intellectual-property agreementsConduct intellectual property due diligence in M&A, financing, and strategic transactionsCollaborate directly with clients and contribute to business development initiativesQualifications JD from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials3-6 years of trademark experience at an AmLaw 200 firm or leading IP boutiqueExperience handling the responsibilities outlined aboveExcellent analytical, research, writing, and communication skillsStrong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detailAbility to manage multiple matters simultaneously and work independently while collaborating effectively with colleagues and clientsExperience communicating directly with clients and managing projects and deadlinesActive bar admission in the relevant jurisdiction or ability to obtain admission by waiverCandidates should have an interest in business development and a desire to build long-term client relationshipsHours Expectations & Compensation The hours expectation for this position is 1,800 billable hours and an "all-in" hours expectation of 2,050 or 2,150, depending on seniority. The billable hours expectation includes up to 50 pro bono hours. All-in hours include the billable hours expectation as well as any additional billable hours, additional pro bono hours, and investment hours. Investment activities include business development, professional development, mentoring and coaching, recruiting, contributing to the firm's workplace culture, and civic and community activitiesTo be eligible for a bonus, associates must reach or exceed 1,850 billable hours (inclusive of up to 50 pro bono hours) and meet or exceed the all-in hours expectation.The base compensation range for this position is $193,000 - $295,000, inclusive of salaries in all listed markets.
