Middle and High School Band & Choir Teacher (Grades 6-12)

The Wisconsin Heights School District is seeking a passionate, innovative, and student-centered Middle and High School Band & Choir Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. This exciting opportunity offers the chance to lead and grow a dynamic secondary music program while collaborating closely with our elementary music teacher to create a comprehensive and connected K-12 music experience for all students.

We are looking for an educator who inspires a lifelong love of music, values collaboration, and is committed to building meaningful musical experiences for students in grades 6-12, including middle school choir, middle school band, 6th grade general music and high school band. The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic leader who can foster excellence in both instrumental and vocal music while helping strengthen a cohesive music program that supports student growth from elementary school through graduation.

Qualifications include the following:

• Current Wisconsin DPI licensure appropriate for the position.
• Evidence of a student-centered teaching philosophy and a passion for music education.
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to direct and develop middle and high school band and choir programs.
• Experience organizing and leading concerts, performances, festivals, and special music events.
• Commitment to collaborating with the elementary music teacher to align curriculum, support student transitions between grade levels, and strengthen the overall K-12 music program.
• Ability to create an engaging, inclusive, and challenging learning environment that meets the needs of all students through differentiated instruction.
• Evidence of effective classroom management and relationship-building skills that support students academically, behaviorally, and emotionally.
• Successful use of meaningful assessments to guide instruction and promote student growth.
• Skills in integrating technology into music instruction, including SMARTboards, Chromebooks, and digital music resources.
• Ability to collaborate positively with colleagues, students, families, and the broader school community.
• Piano proficiency preferred.
