Position Summary:

Newman Catholic Middle and High Schools is seeking a passionate and faith-filled Art Teacher to join our educational team. This position plays a key role in developing students'' creativity and appreciation for the visual arts while nurturing their academic and spiritual growth. Ideal candidates are dynamic educators committed to Catholic values and student-centered learning.

Key Responsibilities

I. Religious Atmosphere

• Model and promote Christian values through actions and interactions.
• Encourage students' spiritual and moral development.
• Participate in and support school liturgies and celebrations.

II. Teaching Responsibilities

• Develop daily lesson plans and engaging instructional activities in visual arts.
• Differentiate instruction to meet individual learning styles and needs.
• Provide meaningful assessments and maintain accurate records.
• Integrate art across subjects when appropriate and promote critical thinking.
• Create a welcoming classroom environment that encourages artistic exploration.
• Display student artwork and promote pride in student achievement.

III. Supervisory Responsibilities

• Supervise students during class, transitions, and school-related activities.
• Promote respectful and responsible behavior aligned with school policies.
• Share in the responsibility for student safety and well-being.

IV. Professional Expectations

• Attend all required meetings, in-service sessions, and school events.
• Collaborate with colleagues and participate in school initiatives.
• Maintain a valid Wisconsin teaching license and Diocesan Religious Certification.
• Pursue ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Art Education or related field.
• Valid Wisconsin teaching license or eligibility.
• Practicing Catholic preferred.
• Effective classroom management and communication skills.
• Experience with middle and high school students is beneficial.
