In Rio, you aren''t just an administrator; you are a key pillar of the community. We are looking for a leader who will champion our mission to educate, empower, and enable every student to become a caring, contributing citizen in an ever-changing world.

Why Rio?

  • The Best of Both Worlds: Enjoy the quiet, supportive atmosphere of a small rural village where everyone knows your name, located just 30 miles north of Madison.

  • Supportive Community: Join a community that greatly supports the school whether it is attendance at events, volunteering, and financial committments.

  • Recognized Excellence: Rio Middle/High School was named a "BEST high school" in the latest US News and World Report.

Key Responsibilities

  • Instructional Leadership: Drive the "Redefining Ready" initiative, ensuring students meet key academic and career indicators

  • Culture Builder: Maintain a positive, inclusive school climate.

  • Community Hub: Actively engage with the Rio community, alumni networks, and local organizations to keep the school at the heart of the village.

  • Wisconsin DPI Principal License (#5051) or eligibility for licensure.

  • Proven experience in secondary education with a strong understanding of Career and College Readiness (ACP) standards.

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build "collaboration and trust"-the hallmarks of our district.

  • A "hands-on" leadership style that embraces being present in hallways, classrooms, and community events.
