Position Details

Charlevoix Public Schools is seeking an energetic secondary Science teacher that also has/had interest in Robotics who maintains a positive learning environment, holds high academic standards, and creates a student-centered classroom. Charlevoix Middle High School has students from grades 7th - 12th. Charlevoix Public Schools is open to candidates with all levels of teaching experience and educational degrees attained and has one of the top teacher salary scales in Michigan.

Qualifications:

  • Secondary Science Certification.
  • Must meet Highly Qualified requirements as defined by the Michigan Department of Education.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students and staff.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate student learning, growth, and achievement.
  • Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use information to adjust teaching strategies.
  • Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures.
  • Use relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction.
  • Update all necessary records accurately and completely as required by laws, district policies, and school regulations.
  • Communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues, and parents regarding student progress and student needs.
  • Understanding of Multi-tiered Systems of Support.
  • Participate in department, school, district, and parent meetings.
  • Ability to effectively demonstrate a whole-child approach to teaching.
  • Other duties as assigned.
