Position Summary:
- Teach visual arts to students in grades 6–8.
- Foster creativity, artistic expression, and confidence.
- Create an engaging and inclusive classroom environment.
- Encourage collaboration, critical thinking, and appreciation for the arts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging art lessons aligned with North Carolina standards.
- Teach a variety of artistic techniques and media.
- Differentiate instruction to support diverse learners.
- Maintain a positive and organized classroom environment.
- Assess student learning and provide constructive feedback.
- Display and celebrate student artwork throughout the school.
- Maintain classroom supplies, materials, and equipment.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families.
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events.
- Support school culture and student character development.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Art Education or related field.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- Passion for working with students.
Preferred:
- Previous middle school teaching experience.
- Experience with multiple art forms and media:
- Drawing
- Painting
- Sculpture
- Digital art
- Mixed media
- Ability to integrate project-based and cross-curricular learning.
