The Clay County Middle School Assistant Boys Baseball Coach will support the head coach in fostering player development, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Key duties include assisting with practices, instructing fundamental skills (hitting, fielding, pitching), supervising games, maintaining safety, and promoting academic success., while also ensuring compliance with school and athletic association rules.

Key Responsibilities:

• Teach individual and team skills, strategies, and rules of baseball.
• Assist in planning and running efficient, safe, and engaging practices and supervising games.
• Promote sportsmanship, academic achievement, physical fitness, and positive character development.
• Ensure safety during all athletic activities, supervising players in dugouts, on buses, and during practice.
• Assist with inventorying equipment, setting up fields, and communicating with parents and staff.
• Adhere to all school district, league, and state athletic association rules and regulations.

Qualifications:

• Previous baseball coaching or playing experience is preferred.
• Strong understanding of baseball rules, techniques, and strategies.
• Effective communication, leadership, and organization skills.
• Ability to obtain required coaching certifications (e.g., CPR/First Aid, concussion safety).
