Wheeling Community Consolidated School District 21 is seeking an outstanding educational leader to serve as Assistant Principal of London Middle School in Wheeling, Illinois, for the 2026-2027 school year. London is a community of 650 students, ranging from sixth through eighth grade. Additionally, London offers a continuum of services, maintains high academic standards, and fosters a relationally and emotionally healthy learning environment. Wheeling, Illinois, has a population of 39,000 and is in the northwest suburbs of Chicago. Approximately 14 miles west of Lake Michigan, and 15 miles northwest of O'Hare Airport, Wheeling is surrounded by the Villages of Arlington Heights, Prospect Heights, and Buffalo Grove, and Northbrook. London Middle School is one of Wheeling CCSD 21's three middle school.

We are seeking outstanding educational leaders who demonstrate:

• Proven Leadership: Success in teaching and administrative or coaching roles, with a minimum of four years of classroom experience preferred.
• Student-Centered Focus: A record of people-focused leadership that prioritizes the emotional and academic needs of middle school learners.
• Operational Excellence: Strong skills in instructional leadership, planning, organization, and sound judgment.
• Commitment to Equity: Deep cultural competence and a dedication to fostering a culture of achievement and respect for all.
• Collaborative Spirit: Integrity, empathy, and approachability, with the ability to build strong partnerships with staff and parents.

Preferred Experience: Prior successful experience as an assistant principal, instructional coach, or central office administrator. Fluency in Spanish or Russian is highly preferred.

Compensation and Requirements

• Salary Range: $97,000 - $107,000 plus a competitive benefits package.
• Licensure: Candidates must possess (or be eligible for) an Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a General Administrative or Principal Endorsement.
