Summary

Beagle Middle School is seeking two dedicated and passionate individuals to join our athletic department as a Middle School Boys Basketball Coach for the upcoming season. The ideal candidates will possess a strong understanding of basketball fundamentals and a commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive team environment. This seasonal position offers the opportunity to mentor young athletes, develop their skills, and promote teamwork and sportsmanship.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct daily basketball practices that focus on skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
• Develop game strategies and prepare the team for competitive matches.
• Organize and oversee all aspects of the basketball program, including scheduling games and practices.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of all players during practices and games.
• Communicate effectively with players, parents, and school administration regarding team expectations, schedules, and any relevant updates.
• Foster a positive team culture that encourages player participation, growth, and respect for others.
• Monitor player attendance, performance, and academic eligibility throughout the season.
• Collaborate with other coaches and school staff to promote the overall athletic program.
• Attend all games and support the team during competitions, providing guidance and encouragement.

Requirements

• Previous coaching experience, preferably at the middle school or high school level.
• Strong knowledge of basketball fundamentals, rules, and coaching techniques.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire young athletes.
• Ability to work effectively with students, parents, and school staff in a collaborative environment.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain prior to the start of the season).
• A commitment to creating a safe and inclusive environment for all players.
• Availability to work evenings and weekends during the basketball season.
