The North Plainfield School District is seeking a dynamic, student-centered, and experienced leader to serve as the Middle School Cheer Coach at North Plainfield Middle School.

North Plainfield is a diverse and vibrant community committed to developing the whole child through academics, athletics, and extracurricular opportunities. Our athletic programs emphasize excellence, sportsmanship, teamwork, leadership, and character development. We are seeking a coach who is passionate about building a comprehensive cheer program that supports student-athletes both on and off the court.

Qualifications and Responsibilities:

Required:

• Valid New Jersey Teaching Certificate or New Jersey Substitute Certificate.
• Current certification in CPR, AED, and First Aid (or obtain prior to the season).
• Demonstrated knowledge of cheerleading fundamentals, sideline cheer, game-day responsibilities, safety standards, stunting progressions, and choreography.
• Ability to organize practices, supervise students, and maintain a safe learning environment.
• Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with students, parents, school administration, athletic administration, and the high school coaching staff.
• Foster an academic-based athletic culture by encouraging academic excellence, accountability, and positive citizenship while supporting student-athletes in achieving success both in the classroom and in cheerleading.
• Knowledge of NJSIAA, school district, and Board of Education policies governing athletics and extracurricular activities.
• Successful completion of all district employment requirements.
• Successful completion of all required NJSIAA coaching education requirement

Preferred:

• Previous cheerleading coaching and/or competitive cheer experience.
