Adams-Friendship Middle School is seeking one or more high-quality educators to join our staff for the upcoming school year. Teaching assignments may include grades 5-8 and may involve core academic instruction, small group instruction, intervention, co-teaching, and/or other middle school assignments based on student needs, licensure, candidate strengths, and staffing needs.
At this time, specific teaching assignments have not yet been finalized. Candidates with middle-level or elementary licensure, English/language arts, math, science, social studies, or related areas are encouraged to apply. Applicants may indicate grade-level or content-area preferences within their WECAN application, and final placement will be determined based on district needs and licensure.

Responsibilities:
Co-Teaching: Collaborate with general education teachers to plan, deliver, and assess instruction. Utilize co-teaching models to support diverse learners within the inclusive classroom setting.
Small Group Intervention: Provide targeted interventions for students who require additional academic support. Develop and implement small group instructional strategies to address specific learning needs.
Elective Instruction: Teach elective courses such as computer science, ensuring students gain essential skills and knowledge. Develop engaging and innovative curriculum to spark student interest and achievement.
Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues, administrators, and support staff to create a cohesive and effective educational experience for all students. Participate in team meetings, professional development, and collaborative planning sessions.
Student Support: Monitor student progress and provide individualized support to help each student achieve their academic goals. Utilize data to inform instructional decisions and interventions.
Parent Communication: Maintain open and effective communication with parents and guardians regarding student progress, classroom activities, and upcoming events.
School Community: Contribute to the positive school culture by participating in school-wide activities, events, and initiatives.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
Valid teaching certification in one or more of the following license categories:
Elementary and Middle School (K-9)
Previously EC and/or EC-MC)
Middle and High School (4-12): ELA, Math, Science, Social Studies
Previously MC-EA or EA-A
Experience with co-teaching models and small group instruction.
Strong background in computer science or related field.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of educators and support staff.
Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Knowledge of and/or experience with applying the Science of Reading

Our Middle School is a great place to work. We have exemplary PLCs that create a positive, supportive culture that is focused on learning and using data to drive our results. We utilize Restorative Practices in a Proactive manner as well as to repair harm. Our growth is significant in both ELA and Math, where 70% of our students grew at or above the expected rate in ELA, and 77% scored at or above the expected rate in Math.
