Middle School Cross Country Coach

The Triton Regional School District is in search of a Middle School Cross Country Coach

The MS XC Coach is responsible for developing and leading a positive, educational, and competitive cross country program that prepares student-athletes for future participation at Triton High School. The coach will foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment while emphasizing sportsmanship, personal growth, teamwork, fitness, and a lifelong appreciation for running.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coaching: Develop and implement practice plans, and training regimens to improve individual and team performance.
• Athlete Development: Provide instruction and feedback to players on skills, techniques, strategies. Focus on fostering teamwork, sportsmanship, and respect.
• Communication: Maintain open lines of communication with players, parents, and school administration. Provide regular updates on team progress and individual development.
• Recruitment and Retention: Encourage student participation in the cross country program and promote a positive team culture to retain athletes into high school
• Safety and Compliance: Ensure that all practices and games adhere to safety guidelines and school policies. Conduct regular assessments of player health and safety.

Preferred Qualifications:

• CPR and First Aid certification is required.
• Prior coaching experience preferred.
