Position Summary:
The Middle School English Teacher is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in a middle school setting. The teacher fosters a love of learning, rigorous content, and effective curriculum implementation. This position will be a shared position with the Cambria-Friesland School District.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Instruction & Curriculum:
- Curriculum & Lesson Planning: Design and implement daily lesson plans aligned with state and district educational standards.
- Instruction: Teach reading comprehension, literary analysis, grammar, vocabulary, and effective communication.
- Assessment & Feedback: Assign and grade essays, tests, and class projects, providing constructive feedback to foster writing improvement.
- Student support: Offer individualized help and tutoring to struggling students, while challenging high-performing students to strive for even greater achievements.
- Classroom management: Enforce school policies and maintain a respectful, safe and inclusive learning environment.
- Communication: Regularly update parents and school administration regarding student academic performance and behavioral progress.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Minimum of a Bachelor''s degree in English, Middle Level Education, or a closely related field.
- Certification: Valid Wisconsin teaching license.
- Skills: Strong communication, time management, and conflict resolution skills.
- Technology: Proficiency with educational software, Learning Management Systems (LMS), and digital grading tools.
