Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team at North Adams-Jerome Elementary as a Middle School English/Language Arts teacher. The successful candidate will foster a positive learning environment that encourages student engagement and academic growth. This full-time position requires a commitment to teaching excellence and the ability to inspire students to reach their full potential.
Qualifications
- Candidate must be a graduate of an accredited college or university and hold a proper Michigan certification for the position
- Bachelor's degree
- Valid MI certification specific to content area
- Demonstrates knowledge in the area of assignment
- Possesses a positive attitude toward the teaching profession, service to the district, and importance and purpose of the education program
- Proficiency in use of current technology for individual or group demonstration or communication
- Exhibits excellent classroom management skills
- Demonstrates ability to provide good judgment, planning, and human relations skills, as well as be required to work under periods of stress due to the level of the position responsibility
- Must successfully complete and maintain compliance with all federal and state background and criminal record check requirements
- Candidate must adhere to all local, state, federal, and school code requirements for employment
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and the community

Responsibilities

- Create a positive classroom environment that promotes respect, inclusion, and a love for learning
- Assess and evaluate student progress through various methods, including tests, projects, and observations
- Provide timely feedback to students and parents regarding academic performance and behavior
- Collaborate with fellow educators, staff, and administration to enhance the educational experience and address student needs
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and other required documentation
- Facilitate classroom discussions and activities that encourage critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational best practices and methodologies
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress and classroom activities
