Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team at North Adams-Jerome Elementary as a Middle School English/Language Arts teacher. The successful candidate will foster a positive learning environment that encourages student engagement and academic growth. This full-time position requires a commitment to teaching excellence and the ability to inspire students to reach their full potential.

Qualifications

  • Candidate must be a graduate of an accredited college or university and hold a proper Michigan certification for the position
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Valid MI certification specific to content area
  • Demonstrates knowledge in the area of assignment
  • Possesses a positive attitude toward the teaching profession, service to the district, and importance and purpose of the education program
  • Proficiency in use of current technology for individual or group demonstration or communication
  • Exhibits excellent classroom management skills
  • Demonstrates ability to provide good judgment, planning, and human relations skills, as well as be required to work under periods of stress due to the level of the position responsibility
  • Must successfully complete and maintain compliance with all federal and state background and criminal record check requirements
  • Candidate must adhere to all local, state, federal, and school code requirements for employment
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and the community

Responsibilities

  • Provide timely feedback to students and parents regarding academic performance and behavior
  • Collaborate with fellow educators, staff, and administration to enhance the educational experience and address student needs
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and other required documentation
  • Facilitate classroom discussions and activities that encourage critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational best practices and methodologies
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress and classroom activities
