We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Middle School English Teacher to inspire young learners and foster a love for language, literature, and effective communication. Duties

  • Utilize instructional design principles and learning technology tools to create interactive lessons that engage diverse learners.
  • Implement classroom management techniques to foster a positive learning environment conducive to active participation.
  • Assess student progress through standardized testing, formative assessments, and project-based evaluations; provide timely feedback.
  • Mentor students in developing strong writing skills, including copy editing, proofreading, and understanding AP style and the Chicago Manual of Style.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development and participate in professional development focused on linguistics, journalism, and instructional strategies.
  • Support students' social-emotional growth through behavior management techniques and personalized academic advising.
  • Incorporate research skills into lessons to enhance students' information literacy and research capabilities.
  • Engage in parent communication regarding student progress and participate in school-wide activities related to education administration.

Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in English, Education, Linguistics or related field; Master's preferred.
  • Prior classroom experience teaching middle school students in diverse settings; private school experience is a plus.
  • Demonstrated expertise in curriculum development, lesson planning, and instructional design tailored for middle school learners.
  • Strong knowledge of classroom management strategies and behavior management techniques.
  • Experience working with learning technology platforms and integrating digital tools into lessons.
  • Familiarity with standardized testing procedures and literacy assessments to monitor student achievement.
  • Proven ability to mentor students effectively while fostering a supportive classroom environment.
