Job Title: Middle School Girls Basketball Head Coach

Job Description:

The MS Head Basketball Coach is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the basketball program for junior high students. This includes planning and leading practices, developing players'' skills and understanding of the game, fostering teamwork and sportsmanship, and managing team logistics. The coach will work closely with school staff, communicate with parents, and represent the school at games and tournaments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and conduct regular practices and game strategies

• Teach basketball fundamentals, rules, and teamwork

• Promote a positive and respectful team culture

• Organize and supervise team participation in games and tournaments

• Ensure player safety and maintain equipment

• Monitor academic performance and encourage student growth

• Follow school, district, and league policies and procedures

Qualifications:

• Previous coaching or playing experience preferred

• Strong understanding of basketball rules and coaching techniques

• Effective communication, leadership, and organizational skills

• Ability to motivate and mentor junior high students

• CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)

• Continue education in regards to new rules, coaching techniques, and teaching methods

• Pay is based on the current extracurricular salary schedule

• Must pass a valid Washington State Background check
