Position Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and student-centered Band Teacher to lead and grow our instrumental music program serving students in grades 5-12. This is a split-building position working with both middle school and high school students, with responsibilities spanning beginning band through advanced ensembles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach instrumental music courses for grades 6-12, including middle school and high school band

  • Plan and deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate instruction

  • Direct and coordinate concert bands and performances throughout the school year

  • Organize and lead the marching band program, including summer rehearsals and fall performances

  • Provide individual and small group lessons to support student growth

  • Collaborate with colleagues, administration, and families to support student success

  • Maintain and manage music inventory, equipment, and facilities

Preferred Timeline & Expectations:

  • Preferred candidates will be available to begin onboarding early

  • Participation in summer marching band is strongly encouraged to ensure a successful fall season (mid-to-late August start)

  • Opportunity to offer summer lessons is available and encouraged

Qualifications:

  • Valid Wisconsin teaching license in Instrumental Music

  • Strong knowledge of instrumental pedagogy across grade levels

  • Experience directing bands and/or marching band preferred

  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and community
