The Wauzeka-Steuben School District is seeking a dedicated and passionate Middle School and High School Science Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will inspire curiosity, foster critical thinking, and create engaging, standards-based science instruction for students in grades 6-12. This position may include teaching a variety of science courses depending on certification and experience (e.g., life science, physical science, environmental science, biology, or STEM).

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality, engaging science instruction aligned with Wisconsin Academic Standards
  • Develop lesson plans that incorporate hands-on, inquiry-based learning experiences
  • Differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs and learning styles
  • Assess student progress regularly and use data to inform instruction
  • Maintain a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment
  • Collaborate with colleagues to support student achievement and school initiatives
  • Communicate effectively with students, families, and staff
  • Participate in professional development and continuous improvement efforts

Qualifications:

  • Valid Wisconsin teaching license in Science (Middle School and/or High School level) or ability to obtain through Wisconsin DPI
  • Strong content knowledge across science disciplines
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
  • Effective classroom management skills
  • Commitment to rural education and community engagement
  • Experience with or willingness to integrate technology into instruction
