Middle School Math/Science Teacher

We are seeking a dynamic and student-centered educator to serve as a Middle School Math/Science Teacher. This position is responsible for delivering engaging, standards-based instruction in mathematics and science while fostering critical thinking, problem-solving, and curiosity. The ideal candidate will create a supportive classroom environment that meets the diverse academic and social-emotional needs of middle school learners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver effective, standards-aligned lessons in mathematics and science
  • Utilize a variety of instructional strategies to engage students and support differentiated learning
  • Foster inquiry-based learning and hands-on experiences in science and real-world problem solving in math
  • Assess student progress regularly and use data to inform instruction
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date student records and grades
  • Create a positive classroom environment that promotes respect, responsibility, and collaboration
  • Communicate regularly with students, families, and staff regarding student progress and needs
  • Collaborate with grade-level teams and interdisciplinary staff to support student success
  • Integrate technology effectively to enhance instruction and learning
  • Participate in professional development and continuous improvement efforts
  • Support school initiatives, programs, and extracurricular activities as appropriate
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Mathematics, Science, or a related field
  • Valid state teaching license/certification for middle school Math and/or Science
  • Strong knowledge of middle school curriculum and instructional best practices
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues
  • Effective classroom management skills
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience teaching middle school students
  • Endorsements or certifications in both Math and Science
  • Experience with differentiated instruction and intervention strategies
  • Familiarity with instructional technology and digital learning tools
  • Knowledge of social-emotional learning practices
Physical Demands
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move around the classroom for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally
  • Ability to supervise students in a variety of settings, including classrooms, labs, and common areas
