Position Title: Secondary Mathematics Teacher (7-12)
Qualifications:
- Must possess or be eligible for Connecticut State Department of Education certification for 7-12 Mathematics (029).
- Degree from an accredited college or university in Mathematics, or Education with mathematics as the concentration.
Evaluator: Building Principal and/or designee
Terms of Employment: Position to start August 18, 2026. Salary and benefits in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement between the association and the Board of Education.
Responsibilities: The Secondary Mathematics Teacher has the following responsibilities as listed below and other duties and responsibilities as shall be assigned by the Building Principal and/or designee:
- Prepare instructional resources and assessments that support the delivery of the Avon Public School''s Mathematics curriculum.
- Develop and implement lesson plans, unit plans, and educational projects to ensure students' academic development.
- Provide differentiated instructional strategies and assessment and/or modify the curriculum to meet the learning needs of students with structured learning plans (IEPs and 504s)
- Provide support to all learners who require additional help or guidance with academic problems and concepts.
- Other responsibilities as defined by the building principal or designee.
