Prelude Prep is a tuition-free public charter school serving students in Pre-K through 8th grade in San Antonio.

We are seeking a Middle School Science Teacher who is passionate about helping students understand how the world works through observation, investigation, and critical thinking. What You'll Do

As a Middle School Science Teacher, you will help students develop scientific thinking, problem-solving skills, and a deeper understanding of the natural world while fostering a classroom culture built on curiosity, effort, and academic growth.

Responsibilities include:

• Deliver engaging, standards-aligned science instruction

• Guide students through investigations, experiments, and scientific discussions

• Help students analyze data, draw conclusions, and support their thinking with evidence

• Create a structured classroom environment where students are challenged to think critically and ask meaningful questions

• Use student data to monitor progress and adjust instruction

• Build strong relationships with students and families

• Collaborate with colleagues to improve outcomes for students

• Participate actively in coaching, planning, and professional development

• Contribute positively to the culture and mission of the school

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university

• Ability to pass a criminal background check

• Eligibility to work in the United States

Preferred

• Texas teaching certification in Science

• Previous classroom teaching experience

• Experience working with middle school students

• Background in biology, chemistry, physics, environmental science, engineering, healthcare, technology, research, or a related field

• Experience tutoring, mentoring, coaching, leading youth programs, or working with children in another setting

Teaching certification is preferred but not required. We are willing to invest in the right candidate who demonstrates strong content knowledge, a commitment to student growth, and the ability to build meaningful relationships with students.

Compensation and Benefits

• Salary: $55,000–$65,000
