Science
Teacher Middle School BASIC FUNCTIONS: The Science Teacher is responsible for teaching scientific concepts and principles while
helping
students
develop
critical
thinking,
inquiry,
and
problem-solving
skills.
They
guide
students

topics

biology,
chemistry,
physics,
or
earth
science
through
hands-on
experiments,
analysis,
and
discussion.
They
assess
student
learning,

The
teacher
maintains
accurate
records,
communicates

and
colleagues,
and
takes
part
in
professional
development
to
support
student
success. QUALIFICATIONS : 1.
Bachelor's
degree
or
higher
and/or
mastery
of
core
subject:
Science
2.
Valid,
active
Pennsylvania
Teaching
Certification
in
Biology
7-12,
General
Science
7-12,
Chemistry
7-12,
and/or
Physics
7-12,
or
Grades
4-8
(4-6
all
subjects,
7-8
Science),
required
(dual
certification
in
Mathematics,
a
plus).

successful
full-time
teaching
experience,
preferred.
