Title/Position: Science Teacher

Start Date: 2026-2027 School Year

Purpose of Position/Summary:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Science Teacher to join our team and engage students in grades 5-6, fostering their understanding of scientific concepts, critical thinking skills, and a love for the natural world.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Science Education or related field
• Valid Teaching Certificate to teach in appropriate grade/subject area

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Planning and delivering a science curriculum for students that aligns to the Indiana State Standards
• Build a culture of professionalism with all stakeholders through establishing strong relationships.
• Commit to the continuous development and refinement of skills through self-reflection and self-directed learning.
• Effectively use technology to enable learning.
• Use data to drive instruction from formative, summative, and authentic assessments, including the use of rubrics, to evaluate student progress and adapt individual programs to meet the needs of all students.
• Work cooperatively with other personnel to improve instructional programs and the overall operation of the school.
• Communicate with students, parents, and other staff concerning student academic progress, attendance, and behavior.
• Attend and participate in required in-service activities and assist in planning and conducting such activities.
• Perform other adjunct duties as assigned consistent with current employer/employee agreement.
