Do you want to make a meaningful difference in students' lives? Wayzata Public Schools is hiring Special Education Paraprofessionals to support students with academic, self-care, and social/behavioral needs, starting the 2026-27 school year.
What You'll Do:
Implement assigned tasks in conjunction with students' Individual Education Plans (IEPs), under direction of the special education teacher
Supervise vulnerable students and assist with academic, social, motor, and functional classroom activities
Observe, document, and communicate student academic and social behavior data to teachers and supervisors
Assist with mobility, self-help skills (feeding, dressing), toileting, and adaptive equipment
Monitor halls, common areas, and transportation needs; accompany students to specialists
Maintain strict student confidentiality and enforce school rules
Hours: 6.75 hrs/day Monday through FridayPay: Starting at $24.83/hourLocations: East Middle, West Middle, Central Middle
Qualifications:
High School diploma or GED required; must meet Minnesota Department of Education paraprofessional competency requirements
Non-violent Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) training may be required
Experience with students who present emotional/behavioral challenges preferred
Ability to lift, pull, and move a minimum of 50 lbs
Flexible, adaptable, and comfortable working across varied settings
Computer skills preferred
