Middle School Special Education Personal Care Aide

Beebe School District is accepting applications for a Special Education Personal Care Aide at Beebe Middle School. The successful candidate will provide individualized assistance to students with disabilities and help ensure they can safely and fully participate in their educational program.

Primary Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one or small-group support under the direction of a special education teacher.
• Assist students with personal care needs, which may include toileting, feeding, hygiene, dressing, mobility, and positioning.
• Support students during classroom instruction, transitions, meals, recess, arrival, dismissal, and other school activities.
• Reinforce academic, behavioral, communication, and independent-living skills identified by the supervising teacher.
• Follow students'' Individualized Education Programs, behavior plans, health plans, and safety procedures.
• Help maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment.
• Observe student progress and communicate relevant information to the supervising teacher and appropriate staff.
• Protect student confidentiality and comply with all district policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties assigned by the building administrator or supervising teacher.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to work patiently and compassionately with students who have a variety of physical, developmental, behavioral, and communication needs.
• Ability to follow written and verbal directions and work effectively as part of a team.
• Dependable attendance, professionalism, and strong communication skills.
• Ability to perform the physical responsibilities of the position, including assisting with student mobility, positioning, and personal care.
• Previous experience working with children or individuals with disabilities is preferred but not required.
• Must successfully complete all district-required background checks and training.
