Key Responsibilities and Duties Implement "Project Lead the Way Gateway" curriculum for grades 6-8. Curriculum Development: Design and implement lessons in alignment with Project Lead the Way, supporting computer science standards, including programming, algorithms, and web technologies (e.g., Python, Java, JavaScript). Instruction & Technical Skills: Teach fundamental and advanced topics such as software development, data structures, and computer hardware operations. Assessment & Evaluation: Grade assignments, evaluate student performance on projects, and provide constructive feedback on technical skills. Classroom Management: Maintain a safe and productive learning environment, including managing computer labs and equipment. Student Support: Mentor students and offer extra assistance to those struggling with complex concepts. Professional Development: Stay updated with rapid technological advancements to ensure curriculum relevance and attend PLTW trainings and maintain PLTW credentials. Required Skills and Qualifications DESE certification required. Technical Knowledge: Proficiency in modern programming languages and computer systems. Pedagogical Skills: Ability to explain complex technical concepts to students, with strong classroom management abilities.
