Middle School Teacher Position OverviewThrivePoint teachers focus primarily on student achievement, one of our three pillars: Enrollment, Engagement, and Achievement. As an alternative education model, we provide flexible, personalized learning in a blended environment. Teachers deliver targeted instruction, monitor progress, and support students in reaching academic goals year-round. Schedule & Work EnvironmentIn-person role: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM Business casual Work with primarily remote students, with some in-person attendance Weekly structure: Monday–Thursday: 2x2 instructional sessions Friday: Staff meetings, student support, and prep
Program StructureMiddle School (7–8):- Traditional model
- Five core courses per semester, across two semesters
- Summer school if needed
Key ResponsibilitiesDeliver achievement-focused instruction in 2x2 sessions across core content areas Adjust instruction to align with standards and student needs Monitor academic progress and support course completion Build relationships that support both engagement and accountability Manage grading, communication, and progress tracking Attend key events, including senior and 8th grade graduations State testing support and administration Middle school report cards Family engagement events (orientations, info nights, etc.) School-wide events and student recognition activities Provide support during summer on alternative schedule for staff
What Makes Someone Successful HereStrong time management and prioritization skills Comfort working in blended/online learning environments Ability to teach multiple subjects and adjust instruction to standards Strong communication with students and families Experience supporting diverse and underserved student populations Problem solving oriented Willingness to communicate with other teachers+coaches about students, and strong written and verbal communication skills Proactive, willing to do something if they see a need or a gap Flexibility/adaptability to changes in expectations/routines/students Content knowledge/love of learning, none of us are done learning Extensive online teaching experience Growth mindset Focus on building student relationships
