Duties
- Maintains a student-centered approach to teaching and learning
- Provides responsive, rigorous, and differentiated instruction to ensure all students are successful
- Collaborates with colleagues to use student learning data from common assessments to adjust instruction, monitor student growth, and evaluate instructional practices
- Collaborates with and provides consultation to general education teachers to support needs of EL students
- Meets with classroom teachers regularly to collaborate and inform classroom teacher of students' language abilities based on the WIDA standards
- Engages students in learning through clear communication with and among students, high level questioning, differentiated learning activities, and relevant materials
- Demonstrates mastery in his/her plans and practices, integrating a wide range of effective pedagogical approaches
- Demonstrates extensive knowledge of content and pedagogy, and models adaptation of content to meet specific student needs
- Creates a positive classroom environment
- Interacts with students in a mutually respectful and caring manner
- Effectively manages classroom procedures, and actively engages students in meeting clear behavior expectations
- Demonstrates well-developed interpersonal and communication skills with all stakeholders
- Exhibits integrity, leadership, and professionalism as a positive member of the school community
- Provides instructional leadership to colleagues by modeling effective EL strategies, supporting co-planning, and sharing research-based practices that promote language development and student achievement
- Facilitates professional collaboration and capacity-building among staff by supporting implementation of WIDA-aligned instructional practices, analyzing student data with teams, and mentoring teachers in meeting the diverse needs of multilingual learners

- Illinois Professional Educator License - Elementary K-9
- ESL Endorsement
- Middle School Endorsement

Skokie School District 73.5 is located in culturally diverse Skokie, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago. There are approximately 1,100 students in the three building school district.
